Whitewater Rafting.

The Arve River is the closest river to Geneva for whitewater rafting, most of the trips desends down towards Lake Geneva, which is very close to the town. Rafting through the Arve River is exciting and is also accessible for the adventurous beginner, as for rafting standards, the Arve River is rated as a class III-IV, many young hitchhikers who visit Geneva will go on one or two rafting expeditions on the Arve river.

While rafting on Arve River, rafters get a rare chance to go over 6 waterfalls within a distance as short as eight kilometers, rafting companies normally have about three trips a day, with the Swiss Alps landscape as backdrop it's a classic view to enjoy while rafting, rafting trips on the Arve River are available from May to September.


The Saleve Mountain attracts many paragliders and is the best way to get a bird's eye view of Geneva and some of the most beautiful countryside in Europe with it's many picturesque mountain ranges and lakes.

If the wind is favorable, it is better to have a long two-seater flight in the para glide, if there is lot of breeze the time allowed for solo flights is 30 minutes, though it can be extended for up to 60 minutes when it's pleasant and gliding friendly.

Paragliding take off is quite easy as it starts on a gentle downward slope that reaches the edge of the cliff, paragliding over the blue Leman Lake and the Alps dominated by Mont Blanc can be so memorable that you will want to return many times for this ultimate way of seeing Geneva.


Geneva is situated at the west end of Lake Geneva, lots of visiting tourists like to enjoy water sports and Geneva Lake offers a wide range of different water sports the whole family can enjoy, sailing is one of Geneva's most popular water sports, Geneva Lake is ideal for sailing as the water is calm and friendly for smooth sailing fun.

There are several kiosks with sailboats for rent and the quays stretch along the Geneva Lake shores, boat tours are available during most seasons, during the summer months you can catch a glimpse of magnificent vintage boats that cruise through Lake Geneva, making this a good time to visit Geneva.
